We believe that our environment acts as the ‘third teacher’, a term used by Early childhood educators which was developed by Reggio Emilia. This means that the environment provides the children with opportunities to explore and discover their world whilst developing skills through their play and discovery.
Our environment is designed to feel like you have all the comforts of home. We are well resourced in equipment and believe in providing colourful, stimulating and pleasing spaces for the children to feel like this Centre really is their home away from home.
Our environment has been designed to assist each child’s self-help skills, independence and sense of wellbeing. The indoor and outdoor play spaces have been designed to feel inviting and to ensure adequate supervision of children at all times.
Our environment has an array of learning areas for the children to practice their skills through play and discovery and some examples are: dramatic play, construction, creative arts, quiet areas, cognitive areas and science and discovery. We believe that the key to learning is through PLAY!
Our Centre’s learning environment reflects the view that all children are capable learners and constructors of their own knowledge. Children are free to choose the areas which interest them so they can engage in collaborative decision-making and social interaction.
